Started using Table of Contents in Camtasia 2018 but have problems hosting on internal intranet

Hi ,

Firstly I'm new to Camtasia and have to say what a fantastic product.

I'm in the process of producing a lot of training videos that in some cases will be an hour or more long. We've decided to use TOC's so as users can if they want just watch certain portions of a video then come back and continue on from where they left off..

The videos work great on my laptop but when all the associated files are moved to our intranet site the video will not play. I get the message "We're sorry, but we are unable to connect to this content. Please try refreshing the page or click here for more help."

I've edited the video file paths in _config.html and _player.html to point to the MP4 url. I am able to run the MP4 direct so I have access.

How are others using TOC enabled videos in their organisations where the videos need to be accessed by a large number of people across the globe?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Anthony;

You may need to look into the MIME types on the intranet server. Here is a quick article we have put together on the subject:

Let me know if that works!

Hi Robert,

Many thanks for your quick response.

I'm not convinced though MIME settings are the problem. I am able to view the standalone mp4 on our intranet site, it is only when I launch it via the HTML file that it throws the error. I would have thought that if the MP4 MIME settings had not been set or were incorrect I would not even be able to view the standalone mp4.

The web server settings are going to be looked at.

Regards, Tony

does your company have a web site?

perhaps try a test; host the videos on the web site

does that work?
