Starting a SnagIt capture (2019) grabs the cursor TOO quickly

In the earlier version of SnagIt, I would click the red button to start a capture and didn't have to worry about where my cursor was as I started the capture.  Now, I have to hold my cursor AWAY from the area I want to capture until the capture window opens, otherwise wherever my cursor happens to be, it gets captured and is often in the way!  I've looked at my settings and most of them allow me to add the cursor...I just want it out of the way unless I choose to add it. It's almost as if the capture window opens too quickly...is anyone else messing with this and is there a setting to get around this (or am I in bug land)?  Thanks in advance.

I use custom profiles and avoid the Giant Red Button because you cannot customize it.

However, SnagIt 2019's cursor is movable in the editor. You can grab it and place it anywhere you want.It moves like any annotation. You can even re-size it or delete it. If you re-size it, it's not the best choice for re-sizing.

Your better off creating custom profiles.Abandon the Red Button. Launch captures with keyboard shortcuts. That's my Opinion.

Joe, thanks!  I haven't played with the custom styles too much but that sounds like a good solution. I have manipulated the cursor in the editor (mostly to move it out of the way), but it sounds like you can specify cursor behavior in a custom style, so I'll experiment now!

I doubly agree.  This is an extremely bad problem that needs an immediate fix.

Unless I've misunderstood the issue, the solution already exists:

Yeah, you can launch captures that way too. "I never think of it that way".

I for one never used the "Manage Profiles Menu" as my capture device of choice. To me it makes One Click which is what I like to call the Giant  Red Button ultra practical. So I should probably be more more careful with my Giant Red Button narrative in my posts.

Giant Red Button/One Click.

I understand Manage Profiles can be convenient. You could even place it another screen.
To me it can block out the rising sun. Is almost 4 times larger than One Click. 100 or more times larger than collapsed  One Click.

I placed a series of One Clicks over and next to Manage Profiles. Just to give a scale comparison at a glance.

The Super Gigantic Red Button has it merits. Its just not for me.

Yep, I never use the big red button either.  You don't need it if you use Prt Scn, and if you select another preset, that launches straight away anyway.
