Starting Snagit shows message that it already runs instead of activating it

I use Launchbar to quickly move around applications. I was always able to switch to Snagit by pressing my hotkey and then type "sna" [enter] and voila, Snagit activated. Now I get a message it's already running. Can the previous behavior where it simply shows the SnagIt window be reinstated? I don't see the added value of this.

Hi Remco, that sounds like an issue with launchbar - I use alfred and have a similar workflow and have no such issues with the new Snagit 2018, nor did I ever with Snagit 4.x

Thank you Jack, but I just tested and the same happens with the regular Spotlight search.

In case it's relevant, I'm on High Sierra.

It could be, I'm on regular Sierra, and it's working with spotlight as well.

Is your copy of snagit in the applications folder?
Are there any other copies of snagit on your machine (backup disk, etc)

If no, then this would be a good case for a support ticket with Techsmith.

Damn, it turned out to be PEBCAK in the end... My old SnagIt was there too and that was the one that was activated. I didn't notice at first the application name had changed. My bad!
