Two things with the Step Tool I would like to see:

1. When deleting a number, an autorenumbering option should be available to close the gap.

2. The latest shape and direction of the number bubble should remain like that until I alter it myself.

I'm confused by what your suggestions are!! Can you explain them in more plain way?

1. Lets say I have a picture with a large group of people, and want to give each of them a number using the incremental numbering stamp tool. When I'm done, I find that I have in error given the same person two numbers. Manually, I have to delete the highest of those two numbers and restamp all the following  numbers. I would like to see an automatic renumbering option in this situation.

2. When I use the incremental numbering stamping tool with a pointed bubble, it always appears with the pointed end orientated to 3 o'clock. Then I have to rotate it to my desired orientation. It is more likely that I need the next pointed bubble in the same orientation than the previous one, so I would like SnagIt to remember the latest orientation of the pointed bubble, so I do not need to rotate it all over again.

Hope this was a bit better explained..?  :)

Yes, it's clearer.

I have used the step tool, and each time I point my cursor I get a new number, it advances automatically. I've never seen it repeat a number unless you click on the second number and manually change the number.

As for the number bubble pointing towards 3 o'clock, you are right. You can click on it and flip it towards 9 o'clock if you want. I tried putting it at 12 o'clock and then saving it to my favorites, but that didn't work, still starts at 3 o'clock.

Thanks for explaining!

Thanks, but still not clear enough, I realize ;)

Regarding my second issue, we are on the same page.

But the numbering problem is as follows: If I stamp 20 numbers from 1 to 20, and them later on delete no 6, I would like the numbers from 7 to 20 to automatically renumber themself from 6 to 19.

Ahhhh, now I get you!!
I see a lot of suggestions on this forum, and sometimes I wonder if TechSmith really reads them or even considers them.  The suggestions are many, and I'd imagine if they took every suggestion, they would be changing their product every month.

Hope you find some answers to your numbering issues.
