I currently use Snagit 13 and I'm usually ok with the low fi mono recording of audio but I now need higher quality stereo; can someone tell me if I upgrade I'll get this or suggest a product that will?

SnagIt 2018's audio is 44,100hz mono 32bit float.

Camtasia Records at 44,100hz stereo 16 bit system audio.

I don't know what your attempting to do. But you could record audio separately using a program like Audacity which is free.
Then bring the audio and screen recording together in a video editing program. Which is more work.
But an option to consider.

Joe... you beat me to it.... Audacity is what Techsmith recommends if memory serves; be sure to record your audio track as a WAV file if you want it to work in C9 or later

Joe and Dustin Thanks -I'd considered these options as a workaround but it defeats the reason I bought snagit to begin with: simplicity. Isn't there a simple registry or ini setting I may just set to record 2 channels -doesn't it use the same capture engine as camtasia? I use vegas for my more elaborate videos but I like to make simple instructional videos on how to use my audio software (cakewalk). How do you think these guys do it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=9&v=Qf2ORf2qY2s
