Are you trying to share an image from the SnagIt editor to Photoshop?

Or are you trying to capture directly into Photoshop?

There is a simple way to accomplish this in both cases.

Thanks for the reply.

Capture directly into Photoshop.  I added Photoshop as an Application, but you have to take the screen shot, then Click Share, Click Program, Click 'Adobe Photoshop' and then click 'OK'.  (I added this application to Program Output.

I'm curious why TechSmith hasn't added a single-click button for Photoshop (the way they have for Excel or Email or Dropbox).

Do you know an easier way?

And you mention something about directly capturing into Photoshop? How can I do this?

This is a video I tossed together a while back and shows how to set up a profile using SnagIt 12 for sharing to Libra Office. You just use the Photoshop exe instead.Actually, the share to Photoshop option should  be already selectable because it uses the same menu as the editor.
The best thing to do is assign a hot key to the profile.
I capture and send my images directly to Photoshop quite often with just one click. I also add annotations in SnagIt and then send them to Photoshop for further editing.

I share from the editor the same way you do, but when the editors already open the extra clicks it don't bother me that much.
A share to PS app would be great but I'm not sure TechSmith want's to make sharing  to a superior image editing program easy. "Just guessing here"

Hi Joe and Eric - we definitely have no problem with people sending their Snagit images off to another app or editor...that's one of the reasons we built the program output. And creating a profile like Joe demonstrated is a really powerful way to hook capture to output. The only reason I can think of that there's isn't a pre-built output for Photoshop is that this is not a primary use case among our user base...and it seems to be pretty well served by the program output + capture profile. We try to support the primary use cases and workflows most natively ("out of the box") and give users the flexibility to configure Snagit for the myriad niche workflows and use cases. That said, at some point niche or secondary workflows can become primary (either due to shifting user behavior or due to positioning the product for different sets of users) and when that happens we may change the default experience accordingly.

Hope that helps shed some light on the why! Thanks, Joe, for showing the what and how.  :)
