When I make a screen capture, I get a popup error saying Snagit Failed to Save Document. Sometimes it happens sometimes not. It's happen 5-10 times in a row, and then eventually the screen capture will work. Very frustrating, because i really like the software when it works.

Hey there Matthew,

Do you have any additional information on your system, and also what version of Snagit are you using?

Snagit, version 10.0.2 Build 21. The problem is getting worse as well, barely functions now. It is a SnagIt generated error popup though, not Windows. What other type of system info are you looking for? We have this installed a numerous PC's in the office, and my laptop is the only one with this problem.

Thanks for the reply.

It happens too when you close snagit and you had print a document with severals page. If you are on the last page and you close snagit the popup windows with failed save appears. Just click to go to another page and snagit closed without popup this window.

It's not a problem when I close Snagit, it's when I try and do a simple screen capture. I really need someone from Techsmith to provide support on this. I now have software that basically does not work properly 90% of the time, and the error is generated by SnagIt, so there must be a fix for it.

Please provide a link for reinstall, or provide me with some kind of upgrade that might help correct this issue.

Thanks

I am having this problem on the latest release under Windows 7. We use Symantec Enterprise Antivirus and I've created every exception I'm permitted under the tool. Disabling it definitely helps. Not sure what else to do or why this is happening with Snagit.

I would like some support from the TechSmith team on this problem. I have a legitimate error causing my application to malfunction. It is a SNAGIT generated error, so there must be some level of corrections applied by the software provider. I have purchased this software for 6 company PC's and would like to see support to correct this problem. Is this actually a TechSmith support site? Maybe I am seeking support in the wrong venue. Please advise.

I had this issued multiple times in a row when trying to save a .png that I opened in SnagIt 11.2.1 (latest) I selected the Image tab, right clicked and selected, "Save Selection As" and let it save with the default naming convention. I just did this about 10 times before posting. I get an error every time when I select "Save" or "Save As", joy every time when I go to the image tab and proceed according to the above.

My system is Windows 7 on a 64 bit macine. My security system is Bullguard.

Best regards,

Always problem on last version (12.2.2). This is the reason why I don't upgrade my 10 license in my company. A bug since so many years. techsmith doesn't care about their customers. I'm sure now.

The problem is you save a big multipages file in tiff or graphic format. First you should split it into sub files. For ex, you have a multipages with 50pages in tiff. My experience is only 15 pages you are allowed to save, if more than this number, you will get message: wait... or capture... The waiting time is about 1-2 minutes... And finally  you will get "failed to save document Error"...
I am using snagit to layout 850 pages scanned using MS imaging, under tiff format. I was encountering this problem too many times.. As you know, Snagit or any graphic editors can not work with any multipages file of  too many pages since the memory is limited. Try to split it into small ones !...  (Tran)

It would be great to have a link from support on options with this issue.  I do not have any security software on my machines and I have the issue.  I upgraded my license after several years hoping that it was a problem with the previous software.  I still have the problem after the upgrade.  I guess I will have to call support, but it would be great to have some kind of online support for this issue.  A checklist of options to try or something.
