Stop adding a drop shadow to every shape in Camtasia Mac

I'm fine with the default shapes having a drop shadow, because there isn't an easy way to add one, unless people realize they can drag it from the video FX. But, if I remove a drop shadow from a shape and then I save it as a style, I obviously don't want the shape to have a drop shadow! Everytime I add a saved style shape to the canvas it gets the drop shadow added to it and that means I have to take it off each time, which totally diminishes the usefulness of saving a style. Stop it!

Still wish there was a way to say "seriously, no drop shadow". Everytime I add an annotation, there's a drop shadow I have to remove. Considering I removed the drop shadow from the object when I saved the style to my annotations, I would say this is a bug. Is there any idea when users could see a fix for this?

There is the text I am trying to add to my Camtasia Mac project ...How can I lose the shadow? This is awful...Looks terrible and hard to read.

There are lots of ways to remove the drop shadow.  This quick video demonstrates three of them:  http://www.screencast.com/t/sasYr7NTffw .  However there is still no way to disable the automatic adding of a drop shadow.

I want to remove the default shadow from everything. I rarely use it and I prefer it to be off. I know how to remove it but I do it a ton of times a day. Can't I set a default for NO shadow????

Stephen, thanks for the tutorial. And, thanks for helping release 7 "dot releases" and a bunch of "dot dot" releases. Camtasia Mac 2 has been the gift that just keeps on giving it.

Obviously, I would love for Camtasia just to respect my wishes on not adding drop shadows to save styles. What can I do to have this feature in a potential 2.7.2 release? If we need more visibility on the issue, I'm happy to promote this issue and see if it's more than just me and Greg that think drop shadows need to go away (except in rare situations).

Camtasia for Mac 2.8.0 was released today, and guess what, it lets you save callouts without drop shadows.    If you add a callout, remove its drop shadow, and then hit the little Save Annotations button, a copy of the callout without a drop shadow will be added to your annotations bin.  When you add that callout, it will not have a drop shadow.

Just in case you do not know where the little Save Annotations button is:

One downside of the current solution is that it is not possible to see which annotations in the annotation bin have drop shadows and which do not, but hopefully that does not cause too trouble.

How does a person with PC drop these horrible shadows? Every one comes though with the shadow. The shadow is annoying. Please make it stop for PC as well.

Stephen, this is one of the happiest days of my life! Thank you so much! Just tested it out with shape annotations and it works great!

Slight nitpick, it doesn't work with the sketch motion callouts. They still get a drop shadow... which, is kind of funny, because if you're drawing something on a screen or piece of paper, it most certainly wouldn't have a shadow. But, I can live with this for now. You're amazing, thanks for making this happen and letting us all know. It wasn't listed in the release notes, so this is a real treat.

All well and good but I'd just like to point out that, speaking for myself, I don't want a drop shadow on anything a LOT more of the time than I ever do want one. Could not the functionality be  the same but the default be no drop shadow?

Same from me. Let me turn it off permanently. Why is this a default for everything?
