Is there a way to store Camtasia 3 for Mac video and web page files on Google Drive then embed the video with the quizzes working in the video on a Wix.com page/website? I am trying to have a Wix website that has a webpage that embeds my screencasts/training sessions, but have all the quizzes in the videos I make.

Any help, I would appreciate it a lot.

I just tried one and I was able to use it in my webserver.

It generates an HTML file, and then a few folders with javascript, css and of course the video file.

I'm not familiar with Wix, but if it lets you upload a bunch of files and use those then I suspect it would work.

As far as google drive goes,  I'm not sure how google handles it, but it does not sound like something I would expect to work.  Also note that when I tried the quiz I made by double clicking on the html page, I got a notice that some functionality required a server to work - So this is another reason I suspect google drive wouldn't work.

If you're hosting quizzes, you might try the free version of screencast.com which is run by techsmith, the makers of camtasia - It's free to try, and the paid plain is like $10/month or $99/year.

Then what you could do is include a link on a page in your wix website, that points to the page on screencast.com that has the video with the quiz you want to share.

But if I share just the video file, I might as well upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo since the quiz page is out of the question. Doing video graphics for the quizzes is no problem - not a bad idea.

Wix probably has file upload feature. But, probably at very low file sizes. That is why I was hoping to connect Google Drive to link to a Wix website with the web page files from Camtasia to have the quizzes work and store it outside of Wix. I can't help there is a way to do it, but I am not 100% sure.

is your intent to offer this as a paid product or as free for everyone?

I feel like the quizzes will be more expensive to host, if it's free stuff you're doing, then the game show style quiz lets you match the hosting expense to the profit brought in (0 = 0).

If you're building a pay product, then I'm not sure what you'll end up with but likely not a wix website. If thats the case then the $10/month screencast.com might be a cheap and easy way to preview courses to friend/potential customers to gauge interest.

I was planning to do a free screen casting videos for now. Once I build-up enough videos, then maybe I will start selling my screencasts.

I'll probably end up hosting my screencast videos on my own website someday (most likely not Wix). As for now when I am in school, I'll stick to the free versions.

Hi there!

One thing to keep in mind is that storing videos on Google Drive is essentially the same as storing a video on YouTube; they use the exact same infrastructure and back-end. The issue comes from the fact that cloud-storage like Google Drive, Dropbox, etc. do not read file structures the way a web-server does, instead they read no different than a basic data server or data structure. Since the quiz-function requires our player, you would need to upload the files to an actual web server; from there I am sure you could use the embed code to store them on a Wix.com page (or any other WYSIWYG site service). In fact, I am sure you could even store your videos on Screencast.com and then use the Embed code on your Wix.com site; have you tried that path yet (for testing purposes)?

With Screencast.com? Not yet. I have not done any tests since I was seeing if Google Drive could be a possible file storing option for the quizzes. I had a feeling that Wix and Google Drive would not work. But, I had to find out for sure. It is a bummer that a video viewer can't look at Google Drive's file structure and embed the video with its interactive on a web page.

Thanks for your feedback Robert!
