Hello, I use Camtasia version 8 and I can not find the right way to create videos for instagram stories, when I upload them to instagram, the black video is often displayed and it is not a valid format, but rarely do I get a video Valid for stories (normally all the videos are valid for post in the feed) but my problem is with the stories. Do you have any valid configurations for instagram stories? Thanks in advance.

You need to set your  project dimensions to 1080 x 1920 first.

Then, If your working with widescreen footage, rotate it. Then enlarge it so it fills the entire screen. I'm not entirely sure what direction you need to rotate it for it to appear right side up on a desktop. I don't use stories Instagram.

The other option is vertical viewing, just make sure you fill the canvas area so there will be no black bars when you produce the video.
Then do a custom production to mp4. Make sure the video dimensions are 1080 x 1920 and you should be good to go.

Regards, Joe

Thank you very much Joe for your prompt response, to what you indicate if I knew it, but my question is more focused on exporting the video, the output parameters of the video, I think that is the key to get valid videos for instagram stories.

If you know that or someone could help me.

This is what I would go with, they are high quality settings.

These short duration videos that get Instagram deletes 24 hours after there uploaded. Really don't require studio quality output productions anyway.

I think you'll find these setting are more than adequate. It will also keep your file sizes manageable.

You should never render videos at 100% quality. That's may be why Instagram was rejecting your previous uploads?

Thanks Joe, I tried a new video with your proposal already worked perfectly, with my astonishment I tried to render old videos that did not rise to stories of instagram and still do not upload, and here the only difference now is the size of the video, which up with your configuration occupies 16Mb and the one that does not 1.6Mb, maybe that's why?

Should not, right?

I can't imagine why the other videos didn't work. There very short videos,I suggest you just do them over from scratch.
Discard the old projects and start a brand new project.Use the new output settings and hopefully, you won't have any more problems. {: >)

Great, I have tried to create a small 4Mb video and it has uploaded without problem, so the size is not the problem as I feared.

I will create the old projects with this configuration and if I have problems I will return here, meanwhile, many thanks for everything has been a great help.

Bad news, after trying several times new projects I return to the initial situation, are not valid for instagram stories, I tried to install camtasia 9 in trial period and only worked the first video created, the following, none were recognized by instagram .

Any other recommendations?
