STUDENT SEEKING HELP

Okay, I am a STUDENT not a teacher... I am trying to ACCESS the videos my teacher has recorded not UPLOAD anything. I have spent the last 40 min trying to figure out how to simply access these lecture videos. My professor sent a class-wide email directing us to the camtasia website and told us to use the password 'lectures'. So I googled Camtsia and it brought me here but there seems to be NO way for me to access my teachers account or library through screencast. This site is obviously designed for ppl who want to UPLOAD or share thier own videos but provides no information on how ppl can VIEW those videos. Its very frustrating, my time is important to me. Please help.

Hi,
I am sorry you are having trouble.

Did your teacher tell you to go to the Camtasia Studio site or the Screencast.com site?

I will assume you know you need to go to Screencast.com.

Usually someone will share a link to the video so you can go to the video page and watch the video.
It is highly unusual that someone would give out the password to the entire account.
So, maybe he gave you a password for some private, protected videos?

If so, he should have sent you a link to get to the site you need. Without a link, you cannot do anything. Perhaps he forgot to give you the link in the email he sent?

Please DO NOT post that link here since you have already posted the password which I am sure he does not want everyone to know.

Once you get the link from him, click the link and you will be taken to a screen where you will enter the password. Then you will see a list of videos to watch .

Good luck!

Kelly, thank you for the response. I kept reading things on the website about how the teachers can send out links but I was hoping that that wasn't the only way. And yes, the password was just for a folder containing the lecture videos, not for the whole account.

I think it might be much easier and user-friendly if they modified the website to allow users to search for other user's public videos. If Screencast had offered a search bar of some sort, then I could have searched for my professors username and perhaps found their library and entered the required password from there. That way I don't need to ask for a new link every time I need to review. I'm not complaining, just offering a suggestion from a student's pov.

Thanks again.
