Success Factors LMS cannot upload scorm 1.2 content from Camtasia

To successfully upload the scorm 1.2 zip file we need to manually modify the imsmanifest.xml file

and add metadata
<schemaversion>1.2</schemaversion>

Without this addition we have to manually place the content on our content server and manually create the link to the content.

Hello,

We have the same issue. Did you find a solution/configuration or you have to modify the file manually?

Thank you,

Andre

Adding the following lines, below tag <metadata> resolved it for me:

<schema>ADL SCORM</schema>
<schemaversion>1.2</schemaversion>

After you generate the SCORM zip from camtasia and after you modify the "imsmanifest" as mentioned above, you have to select all files in the project folder + right click + zip
This generated zipped verison will ensure that the manifest file is in the root folder.
cheers!

Hi all,
To avoid manual update for each content, I want to add some definitions into manifest template.
Are there anyone who knows which XML file is the one?

Hi Rick-san,

Yes! It works fine.

Actually, for my environment and type of content I create, I should go to the folder below:
C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Camtasia 9\Media\Studio\HTML\SmartPlayer\scorm12\

One Note.
The XML didn't allow to edit by users expect admin,  thus I should set permission to edit.

Thank you very much for your prompt assistance.

Have a good weekend :-)

@Suzuki, I think the template file for Scorm 1.2 productions is found here:  "C:\Program Files\TechSmith\Camtasia 2018\Media\Studio\HTML\SmartPlayer\scorm12\imsmanifest.xml"

A few notes:
- Modifying this file will affect all future SCORM 1.2 productions.
- Because the file is under the Program Files folder, you'll need to run your text editor as Administrator in order to make changes to the file.
- Since we haven't tested this, we can't guarantee that it will work in various LMS's.  But based on the results from this thread, it looks like it might help in Success Factors.

Hope this helps.

Hi Dave

Does your answer imply that the second instance (2004) is never used? Or is it one of these things where it's present, and only in very specific circumstances would it be used? I'm thinking that perhaps the LMS only using SCORM 2004 or needing it in favor of SCORM 1.2.

Appreciate any info.

Rick :)

Hi Dave,
Thanks a lot for your comments.

Noted this modification is not officially recommended.
In that context, I will get the original imsmanisest.xml back for the safety update when I will upgrade Camtasia to newer version.

I created my content as SCORM 1.2 compliant. That might be the reason I didn't have to update manifest under scorm04 folder.
