Can anyone tell me why my audio suddenly disappears when I am working in the editor. This has happened several times. I can see the audio is still in the clip that I have been editing but suddenly it goes away. I am not clicking on anything when this happens. Glitch?

Hello and thanks for stopping by!

If you open a new project and add some media to the timeline, do you have audio again? How do you get the audio back?If the issue happens again, please right-click on that same Speaker Icon but this time go to 'Open Volume Mixer' and locate Camtasia in the small window; is the volume turned down? Does turning it back up / un-muting it do you get audio back after restarting Camtasia?

Please try the following:

Right-click on the Speaker icon in your Windows System Tray (lower right corner of your screen, where the system clock is) and go to Communications, is it set to reduce volume? If set, so that to zero/do nothing then close the window.

Thank you, Robert. If I close Camtasia the problem still continues. I need to shut down my computer to get the sound back. I will try your suggestions next time it happens.
