NEED:
Sometimes I don't want to edit a capture because I just want to copy a snippet from the screen and paste it directly into another app.

DESIGN
I would love a hot button that would present the usual framing interface, but just for a screen capture.
The capture would go directly to the system clipboard, and not be added into the library.

DESIRED WORK FLOW
  1. Select capture hot button
  2. Drag out frame (click, drag, release)
  3. Use in other application as a paste from system clipboard

CURRENT WORK FLOW
  1. Select capture hot button
  2. Drag out frame (click, drag, release)
  3. Click the "confirm" capture button
  4. Wait for the Snagit editor to open
  5. Select all
  6. Copy
  7. Delete the capture because there is no need to save it.
  8. Close Snagit editor.
  9. Use in other application as a paste from system clipboard
I love it when I can bank those mouse clicks and redeem them in the afterlife!  OR better yet, live those precious seconds that are spent doing something redundant again

Hi Bruce!

You can indeed set something like that up!

Are you using Windows or Mac (I can tailor the pics / profile to your needs)?

I should've figured they'd already have this done.
  1. Go to the little drop down window
  2. Select the paragraph icon under the big red capture button
  3. Select "Manage Presets"
  4. Add a Hotkey to the preset "Send to Clipboard"
Done

Hi - I have a PreSet for this (Ctrl Q) in my case I set this up by
1. On the opening screen of Snagit
2. Clicki the + beside Preset
3. Select New Preset
4. Uncheck (switch off) All options except copy to ClipBoard
5. Optionally adjust any othe capture settings in Image option
6. Save Preset
7. Assign a Name
8. Add a Hot Key (as above Ctrl Q for me)

Now whenever I want a quick snag, to drop in to something - I use Ctrl Q
The image is available in the Clipboard

Hope this helps
Andy
