Does Windows support the StreamCam?  What version of Windows are you running?
Software doesn't support hardware, that job is left to the OS. If Windows recognizes StreamCam then it is available to any software on that system.

Ed, I'm on W10 but it is not an OS issue. TechSmith publishes a list of supported webcams for Camtasia (below). The new Logitech StreamCam does not appear on that list. I'm not going to buy an expensive webcam unless I know that it will work with Camtasia.

Camtasia (Windows): Webcam Compatibility

Camtasia recommends using an external USB webcam. While any USB external webcam should work, this list contains each USB webcam that has been specifically tested.
Supported Devices

    Microsoft LifeCam Cinema HD
    Logitech C920
    Logitech C922
    Logitech 9000 Pro
    Logitech C910
    Logitech C310
    Logitech QuickCam Pro 4000
    Logitech QuickCam S5500
    HP AutoFocus

Unsupported Devices

    Document Cameras
    IP Cameras
    DV Cameras (USB or Firewire)
    Internal or External Capture Cards
    4k Webcams

Have you tried to hook one up? Or are you assuming it's not on the list, therefore won't work?
I think this list is what  TS knows works, I don't think it's not exclusive.  Here's the relative Tech Specs:

None of the specs look like it might be an unsupported device?

I buy most of the "new" tech items from Amazon, and if  it doesn't work, I return it.

I have not connected one. I have not purchased one. I want confirmation from TechSmith that it is supported before I purchase one. It is just how I do things.

I've decided to use my Canon DSLR camera with Cam Link as a webcam so I will not need a Logitech webcam.

Yeah, that makes sense. I had tried a similar set up, however as I use Nikon they're not great for this as the liveview autofocus is a bit slow.

Thanks for letting me know though, shame it couldn't be clarified.

Thank you so much for letting me know. In case my Canon DSLR setup does not work, I'll buy the StreamCam. Good to know this.
