Support SVG or EPS

A lot of icons and glyphs that you can find online are available as a vector. This is great because they can be scaled up to any size without becoming pixelated. But Snagit currently doesn’t support these formats. It be great to have Snagit accept a drag and drop onto the canvas with these types of files.

I don't know how you'd do that, if I understand this correctly. Since SnagIt is a raster editor vs. a vector editor. Unless of course, you just want to view a vector image & not edit the elements? Though either would be nice.  Maybe we need a SnagIt Vector editor product, separate from the normal SnagIt.

Editing would be great, but I'd be totally happy with the ability to view and then copy or export into a relatively high-resolution raster format.

I'm not a graphic expert, but .. a while back when I wanted to make a better banner for my youtube channel, I think the need to convert to SVG and adjust to larger size came into view.  But.... how much weight would that add to the Snagit program, considering... the comment that it is a raster editor?  Again, my comment is not expert.  The youtube channel banner issue is the only time that is of possible interest for me.

Even better would be if you can open the system for plugins - allow the community to develop add-ons to install - vector items are needed - but why not let the community develop it and you guys make the platform to allow it?

This Idea didn’t get enough votes to be under consideration for a release in the next year or so. We are marking this one as Not Planned for the time being. At this point, there are a lot of other things things we’ll be focusing on first. Definitely bring this up again when we do our next round of voting if you still see a need!

Here are the definitions of what the statuses mean for Ideas.
Here is the overall vote count for the rest of the Ideas in this roundup, as well as what has been implemented since our previous round.

Hi, i would like to create icons, images so we can use them in our webapplication. We would like to change the color of these icons individually by users when using these in there white label environment. At this moment snagit does not fullfil this wish. and we have to move to alternative software. but i would like to stay within the techsmith portfolio of products

This would be very helpful, there are so many beautiful vectors, and it is becoming a standard for the web.

EPS files are becoming quite common for saved graphics images and would be handy to import into SnagIT
