Switching between the library and editor to view images

I've just purchase Snagit 13. I love it. Though I have an idea to make it better (or if there is a way of doing this let me know).

I take lots of screen shots with annotations each day and the main way I'm using Snagit is to review my work at the end of the week. When I review I select a tag in the library or just go back sequentially. I look at a screenshot in the library, then switch to the editor to see it in detail. Then I want to look at the next image. Ideally I'd hit a 'next' button "<" or ">" in the editor to move to the next image in the library folder. But there seems to be no such button. (Alternatively the 'recent' display at the bottom of the editor could be chosen to display for the current folder open in the library).

I'm finding that Snagit is fast, but switching between the library and the editor is slow. This takes approx. 10 seconds for the programs to switch over on my laptop - very slow. It seems slower than my older trial version (v12?)

In the post "https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/previewing-navigtaing-snagit-libary-images" David suggested a reading pane for the library to provide more integration. I'd prefer an editor next and previous button so that I can predominantly work in the editor, especially avoid the slow switch between the editor & the library.

I've selected the 'Always keep the Editor selected in the background' in the preferences and its now 3 seconds to switch to the Editor and about 6 seconds to switch to the library. But I haven't found a 'next image' button yet for the editor to speed it up.

If you always keep the editor running, then it will use it even though you are using an editor where you have selected to NOT use the editor. That is a bug and has been reported. Just be aware of it

What you could do is zoom into the thumbnails in the Library and never leave the library.

You can apply a zoom of 200% or less using the slider at the bottom of the library. That makes them fairly easy to see. Then you can scroll down  through the thumbnails to review them.

Thank you Joe. The proportions on my screen are exactly like yours on my 27" screen. It's quite hard for me to read my annotations at 200%, though I could read them easily in the Editor. So if we had a library zoom to fit the screen, it would allow me to see what I can see in the editor. That would be awesome.

Navigating in the library is a pain.

Showing Thumbnails is not enough. A quick way is needed to view an image in full size (including zoom functions) and get back to the library at the exact same position.

Imagine you are have scrolled captures with height of 10.000 pixels. You don't see anything in the library.

A preview pain would also be very usefull.

I would call features like this standard. What the use of the greatest capturing software if i can't manage the captures. Besides that i just love snag it ;-)

Reading pane for the library in separate screen is a must
