Techsmith Capture always goes to desktop

I just updated to Catalina and am seriously missing Jing. When I try to use Capture from the Chrome windows, it keeps going to my desktop. I added a bunch of permissions that I saw in the SnagIt thread, but it hasn't resolved the problem.

For a workaround, I am minimizing my Chrome and dragging the corners to the size I need to capture, but obviously this is cumbersome and not optimal.

Please help!

I'm not quite sure what you mean by "going to your desktop." Can you only see your desktop background when you're selecting what you want to record?

I have the same issue. It is always on top of my screen, and I cant hide it or move to icons bar as it was with Jing. So now this small window with big red button record is always on the screen.
Can we hide it somehow? It will be very nice to remove from Dock also ;)

Hi Artem! We're working on making Capture run in the top panel, and we're hoping to have that done in the next few weeks. In the mean time, there's a couple things you can do:

1. You can minimize Capture to the dock and use the hotkey you've set to begin a screen capture.

2. The app is on top when you launch using the button on the website. If you're using Capture with Screencast, you can instead just launch Capture like you would any other app (clicking the icon in Applications, typing 'Capture' into Searchlight, etc). When you launch from your computer, and not Screencast, Capture shouldn't stay on top all the time.

If you're a Relay user, #2 won't work for you... yet. We're working on that too.

Hopefully that helps! Let us know if it doesn't and we can try something different.
