text box no blinking cursor camtasia 9

Opening up a camproj from camtasia 8 and when I go to edit the text box, I cannot get a blinking cursor.  So it is difficult to know if the textbox is selected properly, or where the cursor is until I type.  This is a large, annoying bug.

But if I create a new text box (natively in camtasia 9), I get a blinking cursor, no problems.  So there is some hope for the new version.

I agree with a poster here that the text editing should be both directly on the canvas, and also in the properties box.    If someone has hundreds of textboxes, that would be very annoying for them to have to convert all of their textboxes.

Also, even with using native camtasia 9 textboxes (that have the blinking cursor), the blinking cursor is only white color.  So when the textbox background is a lighter color, it is difficult to see.

The blinking cursor needs to be 2 colors.  A [separate] white and black vertical line color so that it can be seen regardless of the color of the textbox background fill color.  Or find another way to deal with it.....such as allowing people to edit text within the callout properties.

I can confirm that ALL of the legacy textboxes seem to have the problem.  So even if you open a new textbox callout natively in Camtasia 9, if it is a legacy callout, you have the missing blinking cursor bug.

There is also another bug....although I think it is not a bug...TS is doing it intentionally.  Resizing textbox automatically resizes text.

An Ibeem blinking cursor needs to be added to Camtasia 2018 for callouts so you can edit text easier.  Very difficult to see where the edit cursor is.

try changing the callout's background color [temporarily]; sometimes, with certain colors, the blinking cursor is very difficult to see?

I don't get the behavior.  I'm not good with a workaround, it's not a solution, but I do appreciate your help, thanks.

You may need a graphics card driver update, something along that line.
With the exception of a pure white background, I can see the blinking cursor without issue.
If I have a white background, Camtasia turns the cursor black.
I can even see the cursor this woman's relative white shirt.

I've seen what you describe many times in Camtasia 9; believe it was resolved by the final Camtasia 9 build publicly released
