The following feature is a must for me; Static placed scrolling huge character length text box

I need to create a text box, any size, anywhere on the canvas, any time length, with no character limit (well at least 5000+), where I can add scrolling effect, meaning text will scroll in and up from bottom of text box (NOT CANVAS) and up and out of the text box (NOT CANVAS). Yes I know I can add an animation to a text box positioned out of sight in the bottom of the canvas, and then animate out to top of canvas, however I need the scrolling to take place in a STATIC placed text box.

WOW. Downloaded trial/demo. This program has the MOST awful text editing capabilities, or rather lack of, I EVER seen!
I cannot paste as plain text from Word, so it pastes text in tiny blue size.
Even copying and pasting from Notepad it changes the color from my other text in text box to other color than what I am currently using!
Don't bother replying to my question about text box scrolling, this software is CRAP!

I suppose that it depends on exactly what you are trying to do as to any assessment of the software. Personally I disagree with your view of the software being crap. There are a number of folks that feel it more than adequately does what we want (myself included). But I'm not really here to try and change your view. It simply may not be for you.

I AM here to say that there are all sorts of issues I've seen across several software applications when it comes to pasting from Word. When you work with Word and copy text, oftentimes there are all manner of different underlying codes that come along with this "simple text". And it has always had a tendency to munge the text or the formatting in the application it is pasted into. I'm guessing you tried pasting that copied text into Notepad in an effort to strip the formatting codes? Hence your mention of copying text from Notepad?

Cheers... Rick :)

Perhaps the entire software is not crap, but I definitely this the text editing capabilities are. Like many other apps, there is an option to "Paste As Text". It should not be necessary for me to first paste  into Notepad, which I did as a test, and then copy from there into Camtasia.

Also too limited to me is that it appears I can not mix and match fonts, styles, size, color, and alignment within one text box.

By the way it is quite a coincidence that a reply to this subject (thread) did not appear until I critized the program.

No coincidence at all. As I said in my earlier reply, the reason I posted was because of your mention of copying and pasting from Word. I don't believe you mentioned that in your initial post.

So there ya go! That's the conspiracy I had. LOL

Cheers... Rick :)

Oh, and for what it's worth, I use an Adobe application (RoboHelp) that costs about four times what Camtasia does. And it has some of the same issues you are citing when it comes to copying and pasting from word.

Hey ho, horses for courses I suppose... ;)
