No menu option to enlarge text. Dark screen hard to read as well. Initial impression poor.

Are you, by any chance using an HD screen?  I don't have any problem with my resolution on my computer display set to 1920X1080.  My impression is that Camtasia doesn't handle the HD resolutions all that well.  But of course I can't test it out.

Indeed the text size is very to small! Usual software uses windows text font and size. Also Snagit should have it again really.

Be aware of the user with 4K screen or user with strong glasses.

Thank you very much.

I agree with this! I can change the canvas white, but the text and black version make this version of Camtasia unusable for me :-(

I just upgraded to a Surface Pro and the Toolbar Icons are MICROSCOPIC (looked much better on my old Lenovo)!!  Has anyone figured out a fix for the Icon size?  I hate to lower my screen resolution (if that would work)

Surface pros support external monitors. You might want to consider getting one.

I myself, don't think editing video on a tiny screen is practical.
It's nearly impossible to see flaws in the video. Plus, the eye strain you are bound to encounter over time.
I could ramble on and on.Sighting dozens of benefits in using  a large monitor.

It may or may not be something that can work for you?

Aside from lowering the resolution of your current monitor. That's the only option I'm aware of.

It would be great if programs had UI support for 2k & 4K monitors built in.So screen magnification wouldn't be required.
I suspect one day, this will be a feature you select in preferences.

Regards,Joe

Thanks Joe.  I do run external monitors but they are still so small.  It works, but it would be so much better

I just purchased a new HP Spectre x360 Convertible Laptop yesterday (3.12.19) and I'm super frustrated that this software is NOT working right on it.  The icons and menus are tiny and the menu bars seem to be missing so much stuff...also when I try to add text to an image, I can't type in the box, there's some weird glitch thing going on...I'M SOOO FRUSTRATED!!  I literally use this software for so much of my business and daily computer work, I NEED this program to operate and display properly.  PLEASE HELP!!

Hi Joe,

Yes, all that has been checked and re-checked several times.  I also scaled it to 200%, signed out and back in as someone mentioned above (wow, everything was super big, Techsmith - eh!).  I changed it to 150%, signed out and in...and then back to 100% out and in again and that seemed to have fixed both the tiny toolbar issue and THANKFULLY the text issue w/ the images was also corrected.  So strange that it was like that.

I use an additional monitor, keyboard, etc w/ my laptop so I was annoyed nothing was working as it should.  There are still several kinks to work out as you mentioned it's a new computer and probably needs a ton of updates, though I think I've already been prompted for most. Thanks for your response though.

On a side note, would you happen to know, I am using an old version (Snagit 11 - I know, I know), but it does everything I need to at the moment.  Do you know if upgrading to the current 19 version is exceptionally better or worth it?

Thanks,
Kathy

Glad you got Camtasia worked out, odd what was required.
On SnagIt,
That's a tuff call. Theres some nice features 2019 offers and some functionality that's lost. Extra clicks required for some things. And everything's rearranged. I like it but do a lot of my editing in Photoshop.
You can download the trial and run it. If you keep the default settings. The 2 programs share the same data store. If you capture images with 2019 and close it. Because you can't run both programs at the same time. The same images will be available in SnagIt 11.
If you were capturing with a feature/effect unavailable to SnagIt 11.That effect wont be applied.
Same with 11, make captures and edit them in 2019. See what you think {:>)

Yeaaaah, I don't know what "Camtasia" is, I was referring to Snagit the whole time, haa!  I just saw the post regarding the issue to what I was having and commented (oops).  But yes, I'll try the demo and see what's different, thanks again for the reply. =)
