Hello, I got a new laptop, with i7 - 7GEN and Nvidia Geforce 920mx, 8GB of ram, and I downloaded Camtasia Studio, 8.6 (I tried even the latest), the problem is that the video preview is laggy, slow, it goes like 4fps, I tried to edit a gameplay, and a normal smartphone recorded video and tried to change the quality and zoom, giving more priority to the program in everything in my PC, but it's laggy, I can't edit, Before this I edited the videos on an Intel caleron PC, and it was laggy but not that much, and on an Intel 3 it was working perfect but with this laptop is a crap, I need urgent help.

Thanks, sorry for my bad English.

EDIT: I played games like Fortnite and they run great.

is your game play and/or smartphone media encoded at 60 frames/second?

if so, that will not work in Camtasia [8.6 or 9.1.2]; both are limited to 30 FPS

that suggests that there might be something about your original mp4 source that is not compatible with Camtasia; you could try converting it using free Handbrake, into another mp4, then use that mp4 in your project; or play the original mp4 in a player that works while capturing that play using Camtasia Recorder

what are the original mp4's dimensions?

did you try using Camtasia 9.1.2?

Both techniques work.

Conversion is Best!

Recording a video playing with Camtasia recorder works. However, in my experience it  should be your last resort.
A recording never captures every frame of the original video. So it's less than ideal. Plus it's time consuming by comparison.
Converting a video doesn't take very long.

Recording an entire video requires the duration of the video.

Camtasia 2018 is being released in 2 days. If your going to try a newer version of Camtasia. Wait 2 days and try the newest one is my advice.
