Add the ability to mute individual (audio & video) tracks in Camtasia Studio

It would be amazing to be able to right click on a track and choose to "mute" it, effectively removing it from the timeline. This would be useful for both audio and video tracks so if you have overlapping video or audio you can watch/listen to one track at a time. Also, the ability to "mute all except this track" option would be awesome.

Keep up the great work guys!

Was waiting for years for the generic "track" concept to be implemented. So glad to have it in CS8 now. One enhancement that would make it even more usable: MUTE buttons to each track! Would work the same for all media types: audio files would no longer be audible and visual elements would no longer be visible. Vastly improves workflow when you have denser composites with many elements. Thanks!

Here's an example of why this is important.
I create a video.
I use an few sound effects and intro music.
I use the voice audio that's included with my screen-capture video feed.
Even after using the noise reduction capability (manually sampled, of course) I might still get noise artifacts.
The easiest way to make it work would be to mute all tracks except the tracks that include my vocal audio, export a .wav file. Edit the noise reduction with some better tools and then sync the finished audio back into a new audio track for my finished product.
Then I unmute the sound-effects/intro music and mute the vocal audio that's tied to my screen capture tracks.
I should be able to toggle one button for the entire track as well as for individual segments within the track as it currently works.
That would make it awesomer.

with the mute - it would be great if when you unmute the entire track it would go back to the level you set it at prior to hitting mute - currently have to write down the levels I had it at and set it back when I turn it on and off.

I mean, after rendering, so that a viewer may turn off the music track and just have the voice only.

great product - so I'm not sure I understand how it is missing something as basic as mute. ??

I'm try to record an audio narration, but I have the music in my ear- very distracting.

to [temporarily] silence a track, select all that audio media, then in audio tab, use silence button

to reverse, with same audio clips selected, in audio tab, use successive volume ups

Being able to mute audio tracks.

Being able to mute individual audio tracks would be really helpful.

I record separate high quality audio and bring that in. I need to line up with original audio, but want to turn original off and on to check. And also turning music or sound FX off and on.

Plus having at least one more audio track. So 4+. For music, sound effects, etc.

Thanks!

Mute would be my first priority. Having a "Solo" button would also be nice but not as critical as mute.  If a track is left muted it is NOT rendered into the final output. If a track is muted and Audio modifications made are not applied to the muted track. That is, it both mutes and in effect locks the track.  I can see how the same features would be nice on video tracks as well.

Add option to mute track/audio/clip.

In one of my Camtasia Studio sessions I've added athmosphere sound. Now I want do add speech... But the background is disturbing me.

Currently I don't seem to be able to mute video clips, audio or even whole track.

It would be great if you would add such feature.

The only other audio tool missing now is the audio peak meter so I know if my audio levels are sufficient but yet not too loud.
