There should be some way to edit out a section of frames in the middle of a Snagit video.

I am far from perfect at creating a video. It's hard to get from start to finish without some stumbles, and perhaps even a major error. There should be a way to cut out a section of frames from the middle of the video so it doesn't have to be recorded from the beginning again. It would also be nice to be able to record OVER a section of frames to correct a glitch.

There is. That's the purpose of the little Red and Green handles on either side of the PlayHead. Just drag them to make a selection of the frames you want to cut, then cut the frames!

Cheers... Rick :)

As for splicing in new bits of recording, it's pretty easy to record, then add the recording to a new layer above the existing layer. Then adjust the start and end points accordingly.

Great! I actually just asked someone in tech support on a chat how to do this, and he said it could not be done, and suggested I post this. I thought it should have been possible! Thanks!

There isn't that option in SnagIt.

Rick is showing you a Camtasia feature.

On SnagIt Windows it looks Like this. I cannot speak for the MAC version.

Doh! My bad! You are using SnagIt and I was thinking Camtasia. For the frames, it's similar.

But you will not be able to "layer in" or record and add other layers in SnagIt. That's totally a Camtasia thing.

Sorry about that! Rick :)

Yes, I discovered that it looked different in Snagit, as you illustrated. So I can use that to cut but not layer?

Correct, SnagIt is very basic.
