Timeline with tracks missing

I have had Camtasia Studio Version 8.6 for a few years and it has work fine until two weeks ago. All of a sudden the bottom of the screen got cut off every time I tried to use the software, so the timeline is missing and I cannot use it. I have attached a screen shot. I have no problem with any other programs I use, including Video Builder (where all tracks are still showing. Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? My operating system is Windows 10 (64-bit).

have you tried grabbing the bottom of canvas area with double-arrow mouse and making canvas area smaller? maybe that will re display the timeline?

If you need a large view of the canvas, it's better to detach it so you can view it in its own window. Right-click just outside the active image and select "Detach Canvas". You can resize the detached canvas and even move it to another monitor, if you have more than one. With the canvas out of the way, you can resize the viewport to increase the number of visible tracks in the timeline. Just keep in mind that as you decrease the size of the viewport, some of the tools on the left-side tool bar will be hidden and you'll have to click on the "More" button to access them.

If you're using a single monitor, you can Alt+Tab between the two Camtasia windows.

You can open and close Camtasia and it will remember this setting until you reattach the canvas.

I do this frequently in CS9 and I'm assuming that CS8.6 works the same way, but I've never actually used it.

If what has been offered earlier doesn't help, perhaps this video will help. I know it's about a missing Canvas, but if memory serves, this also could affect a timeline.

Cheers... Rick :)
