I'm changing from Mac to Windows and I want to keep auto-saved screenshots. Is there an easy way to convert them all - in bulk - to a file format that can be read on a Windows machine?

I was going to put a crying graphic in here as that has been a sore point
On your Mac, bulk convert them to something like a PNG. You afr=e going to lose the layers no matter what you do as there is no way to save them
On second thought TRY exporting one as a pdf and see how that goes PDF CAN hold layers although it tends to do strange. I am not sure if exporting to PDF will work or not with Snagit. so just try one

Does SnagIt on Mac save as *.snag files as well as others? Could you batch convert to *.snag and import them into SnagIt on Windows and preserve everything?

Mac uses a different format of .snag's/whatever they are.
That are incompatible with windows. Thats the whole problem{:>(

amen .. this has been long discussed with heated discussions about using an intermediate format such as TIF  etc. I tried to stay out of it except for my PDF bright idea which will even transfer Illustrator files with varying and limited success

Try one each way and use the batch conversion to lessen the pain

Worth a try, at least it should be a cross platform format.

There's a question about this from four years ago, with a couple of official responses from TechSmith:

https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/open-snagit-files-from-pc-on-mac

And another thread here, from a few months ago:

https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/move-snag-to-snagproj-so-i-can-move-temp-files-from-...

I only use a PC these days, so this wouldn't be one of my highest priority requests.
