Trouble with cursor capture and highlighting options

I am having issues with the cursor showing up despite having the "capture cursor" option turned off on all options. Also, is there a way to not have the default highlighter color as green? I have deleted all other colors (including green) and only inserted yellow but some how green is still the default. It is a nuisance to have to choose yellow every time.

Cursor capture means that you are able to control the cursor on edit. If you don’t, you’ll have no control over it. My favorite use is to set it completely transparent.

Ohhh! I had no idea. How do you set it transparent?

Given the response, I suspect erik may be confusing the thread and thinking about Camtasia. Happens to me too sometimes with thread notifications coming in via email.

In the editor, are you able to click the cursor and see it select as an object on the image that can be moved? If so, try just deleting it. Or clicking it and dragging it off the canvas.

What version of SnagIt are you using? I'm guessing TechSmith would be interested in knowing this as well.

I'm using the latest SnagIt version and whatever color I used last for the highlighter is remembered as the desired color moving forward.

Cheers... Rick :)

I sure did mean to mention that, thank you for the reminder. I am using SnagIt 2018 : Version 18.2.1.

The version I had before the update, Snagit12 would remember the highlighter color last used (and also not show the cursor).

Thanks for the reply!

Can you please describe the sequence of events you are using for your captures?

Even if the cursor is captured, are you not able to click and drag to move it as an object or delete it?
