Anyone have an idea as to why. It worked on trial but then when I purchased it stopped working. I have deleted and reinstalled but no luck. windows 10 laptop, 16 gigs.
Small like 4 section video, and when I create it, I get a spinning wheel and then the program closes.

I'm having the same problem. Looks like a known issue with the latest Win10 and will be fixed in the next release. More details here:

Looks like the issue is solved for new versions. What about previous Snagit (e.g. 13) versions?

I have the same problem in SnagIt 13. I won't pay 25 dollars more to get a fix for something that should work in the first place and is an advertised feature of the version I purchased.

I found a workaround to the issue, not a fix, but something in between, I hope it helps TechSmith to solve it and everyone else to get their GIFs. I describe it better in this other post: https://feedback.techsmith.com/techsmith/topics/animated-gif-error

TL;DR. For me at least, the GIFs are being generated correctly inside C:/Users/.../Appdata/Local/TechSmith/SnagIt/DataStore/ and they are usable, but the editor keeps crashing every time.
