Hello Support,

We are a long time user of Snagit... love the product. I was wondering if it's possible to turn one picture semi-translucent so we can then drag and lay it over another to quickly compare?

Thank you for your response on if this is possible. We have version 2018.1.0 build775
Make it a great day!

Jeff

There are a couple of methods that I can think of, neither of which could be considered true transparency.

1. Fill colour.  If the background is uniform, you could try using a transparent fill.
2. Filters - there one for opacity, you could try that.

But I don't need to do overlays like that so I may well be missing something.

Well, it can be done.
How quick and convenient? I'll let you judge that for yourself.

What you would need to do is apply a "Opacity"filter to the image you want semi-translucent.

Then you can drag it from the recent captures tray over another image for comparison.

You can even go back to the original semi-translucent image and Undo the changes before exiting SnagIt. Otherwise the original image will be semi-translucent forever.

There's also an option to close SnagIt with more refined saving options that will save your image as well. This image will cover those options.
