I like Screencast vs. YouTube because it's private. I'm opposed to having the items I post shared in any way. How can I disable the new Facebook and Twitter icons?

Only public folders show the Twitter and Facebook icons. Any hidden, password protected, or authenticated folder will not.

Sure, but if the folder is hidden, then I can't share it, and I lose the thumbnail menu on the bottom of the screen.

Subfolders could solve this, depending on how you implement them.

Hi Steve, even though the Public folders are called public, it's a little misnomer in my opinion. Neither the folders nor the content is indexed by search engines (at least currently--some people want it to be).

The only people that will find your folder with the thumbnail menu showing all other content in the folder is if they get that link. I can see how Facebook and Twitter icons might encourage your viewers to share it, which sounds like is not something you'd prefer. I just wanted to make clear though that once a person is in your public folder there's no way to stop them from taking the URL and putting it wherever they'd like.

In any case, I can see how people could want control over those buttons. Maybe they just don't like Twitter and Facebook for example.

Thanks!

Can we get the Facebook and Twitter links enabled even for Hidden folders?

I would like to keep my folders hidden, to stop someone with a single link from being able to easily access all videos in a folder. But I would like my viewers to FB and tweet links to my videos (as they include my homepage link as a caption).

I guess I just don't want anyone grabbing a full set of them too easily.
