Two very annoying things about Camtasia V9

1. Not being able to precisly nudge audio recordings and other media into the timeline - one would think this very basic feature would be there. Maybe a right click on the media and insert the timeline time slot numbers- (it doesnt have to be drag and drop)
2. When clicking on an item in the timeline , depending on where you click I inadvertently insert a quiz element. This is most annoying. I wish I could turn off the quizz feature somewhere, its a dam nuisance

Otherwise its a great program , just hope the above can be rectified ....PLEASE!!!!!!!

1. If you have the Playhead positioned exactly where you want the audio or media to be placed. You can  right click the media in the media bin and select. "Add to Timeline at Playhead".

This places the media on the uppermost track. That's not always where you want it.
So, as long as timeline snapping to Playhead is enabled.

You can drag the media to the track of your preference.

2. You can shut off the Quiz & Media Markers using the small arrow to the far left of the timeline.

I have tried setting the play head as suggested and this does not work as expected. This is a work-around solution. in some instances it may work .

If i have an annotation inserted in a track and want to move (nudge) there is no way to do it other than drag it into position. This often leaves the start time out by 2 or 3 seconds.

If the developers are listening PLEASE provide an option when right clicking on media or annotation to "Edit Start Time"  In exactly the same way as "Edit Duration." In fact you can include the Start Time edit in the Duration window setting.    I fail to undestand why such an important feature is not available as it is one of the root elements in the time line production

Have you tried Zooming into the timeline all the way? At full zoom you can drag media one frame of duration at a time.
At 30 frames a second. That should give you plenty of control. I apply all my precision timing zoomed in tight to the timeline.

Yes, that seems to work fine. I should have thought of that - thank you

As a work around I found that extending the duration over the area in the time frame and then let the play head play into position, stop the playback and then split the annotation and discard the first part of the split section. This ensured precise placement
