Hello,
Camtasia 9.1.2 for Windows was released on March 13, 2018. In addition to several other improvements , we implemented some improvements to the editor user interface (UI) to address concerns with legibility and fatigue with extended use. In the fall of 2017, we worked with a group of users to test several prototypes with color and contrast changes to ensure that these changes reflected an improvement in their experience.
To guide our improvements efforts, we began with the WCAG 2.0 level AA contrast ratio of 4.5:1 as our target for the editor UI. In testing our prototype, we found for some areas a contrast above 4.5:1 resulted in better experience for the test participants. The 9.1.2 editor UI reflects contrast ratios of 4.5:1 and, in some areas 7:1 and above.
At this time, we do not have plans to invest in features for switchable (light vs dark) UI or user adjustable contrast controls.
We will continue to listen to feedback from multiple channels, including this Community, to evaluate further improvements for the varying needs of our customers.
Thank you to those that participated in testing our prototypes and to our customers that continue to provide feedback.

I use Media Composer, Edius and Resolve for video editing, and the UI of Camtasia is now on a par with those. Only MC offers any UI colour/contrast control, and MC is many times the cost of Camtasia. And once set ... never used again. Hardly one finger territory.
