Unable to deploy the 2020 license using our MDM

I cannot deploy Camtasia 2020 using our MDM. However, even trying outside of our MDM to deploy a license with a text file in /Users/Shared/ does not work. Does anyone else experience this? I've been waiting WEEKS for Camtasia support to give me useful troubleshooting, but they are pretty weak. They ask if my license works at all and then paste the link to the directions on their website...yeah...very helpful, thanks for that. Then another week will go by where I do not hear from them. I don't know what COVID-19 has to do with their slow/ineffective tech support.

I'm sorry you're not getting prompt support. The number of people creating videos with our tools during this remote working and learning crisis has exploded, so trying to support all of them has been challenging. Few if any of our support staff have experience with Mac deployments.

First, have you verified that there is global read access throughout the file path to that LicenseKey file? If Camtasia can't read it, it won't be able to unlock it. Apps on Mac don't really run as 'you' even if you are an administrator. So, it's possible that even though you own the file, the app doesn't have permission to read it.

I'll go ask some more questions of our Camtasia development team if they have other troubleshooting ideas.

Thanks for writing back, Paul. I understand the uptick in video creation, however we can't even USE the product right now, that should go to the top of the priority list vs how-to user questions. I have given the LicenseKey 777 permissions. I gave the entire directory structure 777 permissions and it does not read it. It works in the 2019 version, so I feel like there is something happening with 20.0.2...

Our next ideas are to make sure you have the lastest version - 2020.0.3 - because there was an issue with this fixed.
Last idea would be to verify that the key you have has no typos in it (I know that seems obvious but I have to suggest it), and that it's definitely a 2020 key and not a 2019 key. If you typed it into Camtasia directly, for example, does it unlock?
