I keep receiving this message when I try to cut a piece of the recording.  "error message nothing was copied to the clipboard since the selection has no media that can be copied",  This occurs whether or not media is attached to the recording.  How can I successfully cut a piece out, I haven't had this issue until now.

are you cutting by making a timeline selection, then using cut [ctl-x]?

I am highlighting what I wish to delete and using the scissors to cut and then I receive that message.  I was able to successfully use this cut option just yesterday but not any longer.

Is it possible that what you are trying to cut isn't a recording but perhaps an image or a callout?

I have only 11 tracks of callouts and no audio in this recording thus far.  I have tried to use the control x to cut, same error.  Scissors to cut, same error.  I have also locked and unlocked each timeline separately to see if that was it, same error.  It will not remove the pieces that I am highlighting.

OK, try this ...

exit and relaunch Camtasia; reload your project

select the clip on timeline you want to cut some out of [this is not a timeline selection with playhead]

with the clip selected [highlighted], use the S key to put a split at beginning of cut location; do the same at end of cut location

with the target clip selected between the splits, use the delete key; ... does the section disappear?
