I use SnagIt for Windows at work and SnagIt for Mac at home.  I regularly create images on both that contain multiple layers, so I save them in the native SnagIt format as well as in png format.  The native format provides me with the flexibility of making changes in the future.  The problem is that the native formats are completely different between Mac & PC, so I'm unable to edit the .snag or .snagproj on the other OS.

Please make the native SnagIt file format universal so it can be opened and modified across Mac & PC.  This will make SnagIt even more powerful and valuable to your user base.

Thank you!

That has been discussed time and again and I do not think the solution is in sight. Many have asked for a fix but I do believe each Snagit version can do different things and that may be a barrier to a totally compatible file format.
That is just my 2 cents

The fact that the Windows and Mac versions have different features has no impact on the file format.

Other applications already have universal file formats.  Microsoft Office, for example, uses the same file format across PC & Mac OSs.  Features are similar, but there are some unique on each platform.  Techsmith CAN solve this problem!
