I would like the ability to adjust either the height of an object or the width without having to do both. Most apps have the ability to lock/unlock aspect ratio; Camtasia should have this option too

I'm not sure what kind of object you are talking about here, but have you tried pressing and holding the Shift key as you click and drag?

What are you referring to as an Object?
A shape can be resized on one axis if you grab the center handles.

So that would be the same as adjust either the height of an object or the width without having to do both.
But shapes aspect ratios are unlocked by default.Holding Shift actually locks aspect ratio. When grabbing the corner handles.

So it depends what you're doing, what applies.

Joe, that's what I attempted, however Camtasia lives in OPPOSITE land, and what Rick stated is true. The aspect ratio of objects on the canvas are locked UNTIL you hold down shift and then can use either the side or top handles to adjust the size.

Now, is there a way to lock this thread or turn off comments, since my problem has been solved?

You can UN-Follow at the top.
You can't close the thread to comments.
Why you can't do what I can is a mystery? I did it in Camtasia 2019,9 and 8 just now as a test.
I'll leave it at that.
