Unreadable text after publishing

When recording my screen using Camtasia (Windows), text looks clear and easy to read but when published the resulting MP4 file shows text as blurry and unreadable, especially when in full-screen mode. How can I improve this? What am I doing wrong?

Make sure you are editing and producing the video at the same resolution "Canvas Dimensions/Project Settings" that you recorded the screen at originally.

Thanks Joe, that turned out to be exactly the problem - I was editing at a different resolution from recording, didn't realise I had to manually change the settings! Thank you! :)

Glad I could help Liz,

You can go into Editor Preferences and set the Canvas Dimensions to "Original Recording Dimension".

If you chose to do that.
When you start a new project, the first Video Clip placed on the timeline. Automatically sets the Recording Dimensions to match that video.
I think it's the best way to go, but keep this in mind.....
This applies to all media. So if you had a small image, lets say something odd like 800 x 400 pixels.Placed on the timeline first. The projects settings would be 800 x 400 as a result.

Regards,Joe

Thanks Joe, that's actually quite helpful because I'm a new user and these are tips that I will find very useful for future projects.
