Last week (December 11) we released minor updates to Jing on Windows and both Camtasia and Snagit on Mac.

You can find details about Camtasia for Mac 2.3 on the TechSmith blog and Snagit on Mac 2.1.5 on the version history page.

The details on the Jing for Windows update are:

  • Fixed to use a newer version of the Twitter API to maintain the send-to-Twitter feature.
  • Fixed an issue with Jing where having F8 as the capture hotkey, and video stop/pause/resume hotkeys (F7/F8) enabled would cause Jing to freeze when performing a video capture initiated via a hotkey.
  • Fixed so that Jing continues to run under the locally cached account status if screencast.com is down.

Thanks for sharing Daniel. I would like to suggest that instead of just putting the name and version of the software that has been updated that you also post the latest Build Version to. I have Camtasia Studio 8 (Build 994) and when I click to check for update it tells me I have the latest version.

Also, when I click on the Check for Updates it does not always connect to the TechSmith Server. This is why I would suggest putting the update version along with the build numbers when they post about new updates. Just makes it more helpful to the users in my opinion. Thanks again for sharing that information. Have a Happy Holiday Season.
