Upgraded to 2019 and now all my old free content doesnt work?

On my old laptop at work I had Camtasia 8. I had downloaded, and installed (and used) many free assets and templates. (example: Camtasia-Conference-Room-Scenario-02-Camtasia-8-Library-Object-PC-9187995)

I got a new work laptop and it was suggested that I upgrade to the latest and greatest. So now I have my new laptop and Camtasia 2019. Surprize tho! NONE of my free templates will allow me to use them! I really REALLY wish I would have known this going in, I would not have upgraded.

Please... someone tell me if there is a way to still use my old stuff? Cuz right now when I click on the old libzip file to import I get "Unable to import the selected Library. The Library version is not supported in this version of Camtasia."

I believe the article mentions using Camtasia 8 to achieve the steps. You are still able to install version 8 and from other posts I've seen, it appears that your Camtasia 2019 key should unlock version 8.

I just ran some tests,
I exported some library items as a libzip,
I received this error when I tried to import them  .............
This was in Camtasia 2018 and 2019

I could add assets from the library to the timeline and save it as a camproj.

This I was able to import into 2019.

From there you can add them to the Library.
But its not a fast and convenient process {:>(

Whats gone wrong with the library option is anybody's guess?

So install the old camtasia on the new computer to get access to the old stuff. Ugh. I hope IT will work with me on this.

Sorry. But hopefully IT will understand the bit about upgrades and incompatible content.

It worked for me, thats the best I can tell you.

You could open a ticket with support, they might correct the issue "Some Day" which isn't much help at the moment. {:>(
