This might sound like a stupid question... is it possible to upgrade from 8.x to Version 9.x, (choose which version to upgrade to) instead of upgrading to Camtasia 2019?

TIA

Be careful and do not upgrade to 2019!!! I just did and now it freezes the moment I change anything in my video. It seems to go into an automatic backup mode. The freeze lasts about 20 to 30 seconds and then all appears to be OK, except the sound is playing but the video part is still frozen. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND DISAPPOINTING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If anybody has a fix for this, please, let me know!!! As I said: The freeze occurs EVERY TIME I CHANGE SOMETHING IN THE VIDEO I'M WORKING ON.

Yes you can if desired.
Just purchase Camtasia 2019 and download the version you desire from here.Activating it using your 2019 key.

Now this has always been legal in the past.Primarily because you need previous versions to upgrade previous projects. The newest version of Camtasia can update older projects without installing older versions of Camtasia. So this capability may be taken away at some point.

It might be better to contact support first.Just to cover yourself down the road.

juwex the only Stupid Question is the one that is not asked in my opinion. By asking questions and getting answers either from another user or a TechSmith Employee here in the Community Users Forum is how we all learn and help each other and it is nice if it can be on a friendly status without anyone feeling like they should not be here or be rude to each other which is against the rules anyway.

So feel free to post any question yourself or anyone else no matter how stupid or dumb you may think it is as like I stated the only Stupid or Dumb Questions are the ones that are not asked.

Thanks for posting and have a great day/night.

Yep.  I always say there's no such thing as a dumb question.  Some of my answers, on the other hand ...
