Attempting to view a video fails because buffer stops loading midway.

Hi Ryan,

Sorry to hear you are having issues playing back this video. Could you answer a couple questions?
  • What web browser(s) did you experience the streaming issues with?
  • Are you have issue playing back any other videos on screencast.com?
Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,

I am using Chrome Browser Version 74.0.3729.131 (Official Build) (64-bit).
This is my first video upload. Issue persists when I do a hard-refresh on the page.

Regards,
Ryan

I just watched a 8 second video that didn't buffer on FireFox, Chrome and Microsoft Edge Browsers from the link above.
I haven't updated Chrome in ages.I don't use it, same with Edge. I'm a FireFox user.

Google Chrome is up to date
Version 74.0.3729.157 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Looks like I'm up to date on Chrome. I couldn't find any update info for Edge. Being a Windows computer and Microsoft browser.I gotta believe its up to date.

This clip might give a better insight to my issue.

Edit: Streaming seems to continue when I move the player progress a few seconds back.

@Ryan

Have you tried using another browser?

I just watched your video from your link above in Brave browser which is my default browser now and also in Firefox, Chrome and Edge and your video plays without a hiccup for me.

For chrome you could try

Clearing the Cache and Cookies.

Try using in Incognito mode.
If this helps then temporarily disable your extensions to identify which one might be causing the rendering problem. Uncheck Enabled for each extension one by one.

If that doesn't help, reset Chrome settings to see if that helps (Your saved bookmarks and passwords won't be cleared or changed.)

If the issue still persists, I’d suggest to try creating a new user profile by adding a new user on Chrome.

Also, toggle the Use hardware acceleration (Menu>Settings>Show Advanced Settings>System menu)
to see if that helps.

Hi team,

I believe this is due to my current network condition. I've tried to change it and now the video is playing seamlessly.

Thank you for the support.

Cheers,
Ryan
