Useful features disappear on right side of screen

1.  You took great quick editing features from the right side away and buried them in the top, replacing it with a SEARCH Box.

2.  The Search box was unnecessary because your OPEN feature on upper left opened Windows feature to search through folders.   Now we've lost one more feature...the ability to enter a keyword or partial word to bring up all photos from any or all directories, and show us the THUMBNAILS rather than just a list of photos by name.  This new feature was a giant step bckwards, sorry.

3.  Now missing was a button "FLATTEN ALL" so now we have to flatten each object we've modified.  Very unhandy.

4.  Your quick buttons at the top...are too small to read.  Need a setting to switch to larger buttons, which before you'd located on the right hand area where you now have an unnecessary "Search" which takes up a lot of screen real estate!

5.  When using the pen to manually fill in colors when "Fill" doesn't work as it used to, we now have to manually click the PEN button for each action/pen stroke.  It would be better if we could DOUBLE CLICK it, so that each time we draw a stroke, and moving to another location to repeat the action, it would would stay in the Pen mode.

6.  Also missing from the right side was the handy Text tool box allowing us to change tools like bold, underline, even smaller or slightly larger FONT sizess, like sliding from MS's default 36 (for example) to 37 or 40.  Now any change jumps to Windows' limited default 42, then 48, then 60, etc.  The whole mechanism for adding text is also now a giant step backwards.

7.  When choosing Font styles, we used to see a thumbnail of what the font letters actually looked like in the dropdown...a windows feature that Snagit no longer uses; it only now shows the font names in the list.  The actual look of the fonts made it much easier for an artist to choose the best choice without actually clicking on each one.

Again you have turned the handy tools from the right side now to tiny buttons at the top, replacing it with an unnecessarily large search box that has limited features.   I found it handy to just click on a large folder (mine has 30,000 pictures) and enter a keyword like "Virus" and see every thumbnail photo that matched, wherever it is.  Yours now requires an exact name search.   The only workaround is to open file Explorer, find it, identify the exact filename and location and then tell it to Snagit.

Hope ya find my explanations detailed enough but not irritating.  Grin!   thx for your review.

I can't answer to most of your items, however, regarding the 'Search' function, it works quite well. I simply type my search expression and click on 'All matched captures.'

What version of snagit and what operating system please?

I have always used win7 through the versions and I don't ever remember most of what you are referring to. (buttons?) Unless you are referring to the icons across the top.

1. My properties, etc have always been on the right side. Haven't seen a search button before.
2. Click the library icon and search box appears ith thumbnails of results.
3. Rightclick on image and select flatten all or ctrl-shift-t.
4. Try right click on the System Tray icon and choose Exit. Then go to Start/Programs and restart it.
5. Try right click on the System Tray icon and choose Exit. Then go to Start/Programs and restart it.
6. Try right click on the System Tray icon and choose Exit. Then go to Start/Programs and restart it.
7. Try right click on the System Tray icon and choose Exit. Then go to Start/Programs and restart it.

Also, Try right click on the System Tray icon and choose Exit. Then go to Start/Programs and restart it.

See if that helps you out any.
