Would be good if we could consolidate our findings re 2018 version under one spot, otherwise becomes even more tedious. I took a holiday from Snagit, in the hope that TechSmith would clean up a lot of the problems reported by users. This seems not to be the case. Rick knows the details I am almost 100% sure. Rick??
Problem 1 Needs to be v. quickly solved
Also bought Super Stamps. Trying to install this Documentation refers to copying them over in their graphic files to the stamp folder. Instructions are:
1) Open editor
2) Choose Tools/Stamps.
The problem is there is no tools menu visible when the snagit editor is opened. and for some strange when I try to copy into the stamps folder, nothing gets copied.
This is not a great start at all.
Problem 2
As mentioned in a separate post, tried to find version installer for version 11.*** which I had used before. Could not find that by searching on the TechSmith Web site.
This is not good. In fact it is very basic.
Problem 3.
Website here a bit clunky. The overall categorisation ain't too hot. But the instructions are childlike. When you come in you enter a title, and have to choose one of the appropriate categories - they should add bugs as a category. (Anyone then experiencing something they regard as a bug, should be able to see a lit of these, when they were reported, and hopefully when fixed. That is too simple for TechSmith but would save its users immense time, obviously they are not interested as I made such a suggestion over a year ago I think.
But back to the clunkiness and negligence of the web site, after you choose one of the inappropriate categories, you have a message, you can complete your posting below.
This is not good. Why becasue it is NOT BELOW, BUT ABOVE.
Hardly confidence inspiring.
Problem 4
I don't think you can have a safe version running eg 11.46 - I think - and try to start another version, because a message comes about setup being locked.
