using 2 Snagit versions at the same time in Windows 10, with the same licence key

I am currently using Snagit 2019 it doesn't do things the same as in older versions. While I learn all the new features, is it possible to download an earler version and run it on the same Windows 10 computer, at the same time as version Snagit 2019, using the same licence key?

I've been a customer for many many years. The license key is specific for each version. I have successfully run an older version after installing the newer version (as the older was there before installing the newer version). I would NOT run both at the same time as they share the same datastore.

I don't know what TechSmith's policy is, if you are a new customer but want to use an older version that you did not purchase.

If you own a license key for (say) v2019 that key should unlock all previous versions. From other conversations on this forum over the years  licensing should not be a problem running 2 versions of Snagit on the same machine as you are allowed to run it on more than one machine if you do not use them at the same time
Techsmith is free to jump in and correct this
This does not address @patt_thomasson comments that it may end up being a bad idea even though others have done it. I don't think using the same datastore should be an issue. I would think you would have tho change a lot of hot keys so you don't have a conflict
I will take correction on that too

Rick, I've never tried to use the new key with the older product since I've already registered the older version but it's good to know for those folks that want to have an older version available they can do so.

I caution about running both versions concurrently until I hear from TechSmith DEV that it will work without issue. Hopefully there is no contention for the datastore. Better yet, has someone with TechSmith actually tested that use case and can sign off on it?

I used to keep earlier builds of v11 (pre 11.4) around because of a few features that were later dropped. I have slowly let go of that binkie.:-)
