If memory serves, the TREC format emerged with version 8. I'd be surprised if version 7 knew what to do with it.

If you really need what is in it and only have version 7, I'd think the logical way to proceed would be to download and install the trial version of 8. Use the trial to open the TREC, then produce it as an AVI. Then you could drop the resulting AVI into 7 if you wanted to continue.

Cheers... Rick :)

Hello,

Rick is correct. You can convert it one way, from 7 to 8, but we never allow converting the other way, version 8 to 7 or 6, etc.

Is there something special that you need with version 7?
Perhaps there is some other help we can offer you?

Kelly, we produce online lectures for distance learning , i downloaded a trial of version 8 before but it didn't allow us to produce the lecture the way we do in version 7 - PPT in main screen with a small video image on the top left and an index underneath

OK, I see.
If you need to replicate that exact look, you cannot do that in version 8.x.
You can still add your TOC, and you can add your PIP video on top of the other video.
But, not the way you want.
Is there a chance you can change the style to take advantage of the new search, toc, fade in and fade out the picture in picture features?

If not, then you will need to produce the recording to MP4 or AVI and bring that into CS7.x.

Or, redo your recording using version 7.x.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help!
Kelly
