I ran into a problem with trying to upload Camtasia lecture files into Canvas.  I discovered that because my captioned files in my zipped Camtasia files was in xml format this wouldn't work in Canvas.  So what you need to do is to covert the xml file into a srt file which will work in Canvas.  To do this go to the following link:  https://gotranscript.com/subtitle-converter
Once converted you can upload it to work with your mp4 file into Canvas.

What is "Canvas"?

I use a tool for graphics called Canvas -- it is a vector/raster editor (a combination of the functions of Ilustrator and Photoshop in one editor!).

I doubt that is what you are referring to.

Canvas is a learning management system which is used by higher education for online courses.  Here is a link which provides more information:  https://www.canvaslms.com/higher-education/

It would be interesting to know more about how well (or not so well) that Camtasia content can be integrated into an LMS such as Canvas.

Here at the corporation I work for, they very much frown on Camtasia SCORM output, as it is considered insufficient.
