Using Font Awesome in Snagit

I would like to use icons from FrontAwesome in my Snagit editor. Font Awesome is successfully installed, but I cannot find a way to have the correct icon appear. I tried to copy an icon from Fontawesome web site and past it, but I get extra text and wrong icon appear. Anyway have any luck getting FontAwesome to work in Snagit?

Yeah, this would be cool.  Illustrator does this.  It would be a simple matter of correlating the Stamp tool with a particular font.  Would be really neat.

One thing you could do is convert all the svg files from Font Awesome (download them) into PNG and then import those PNG files as stamps.  I think that'd work (I've imported pngs to use as individual stamps before)

But, you know how many font awesome items there are?  675

They need integrating properly and for TechSmith to do it once rather than hundreds of us doing it independently

Isn't the "advertised beauty" of these awesome fonts that they scale to basically any size you want without distortion?

Seems the moment you convert one to PNG you lose that.

What I've been doing is
* Create a tiny Word document, as small as the margins and page size will support (about 1.5" square)
* From the FontAwesome site, copy the character desired
* Fill the Word page with your one FA character.  Style it with the FA font so it's pretty.
* Save As PDF (sadly it loses vectorness but it's basically good enough) and then add as My Stamp.

Works fine, since I don't need all those FA icons.  Just be sure you don't save to the Snagit Stamps folder.

Aside: Don't save to "Snagit Stamps" folder directly.  Save to somewhere else use the SnagIt Organize Stamps... -> Add Stamps... interface.  It apparently doesn't refresh its view into that folder until you restart the app, so just play along: save file elsewhere, then import via Snagit.
