I was just wondering if there is an ability to use Google Slides in the same capacity as Powerpoint? I don't see it mentioned anywhere, so I'm assuming no, but I thought I'd ask to see if someone knows about something I'm not seeing...

Hi there

Keep in mind that just because TechSmith has a PowerPoint add in, that doesn't mean it's the only way to use PPT with Camtasia. For example, I never earnestly use the add in. I much prefer to just launch Camtasia, then tell it to record the screen, then launch the PPT presentation. Then I trim out the bits showing me launching PPT.

So you could easily do the same with Google Slides. Just launch Camtasia, tell it to record the screen, then launch the Google Slides presentation. Then trim out the bits you don't want to see.

Cheers... Rick :)

Very good point. I guess I get caught up too often with trying to only use built-in features as opposed to simply  going old-school and getting more flexibility. Thanks!

One thing worth mentioning is that Camtasia can record Google Slides, or anything else you happen to have on your screen, it will not pick up any additional information.  Camtasia can talk to PowerPoint and grab information about slide titles, and use this to generate Markers.  Camtasia cannot talk to Google Slides to capture slide title information.  You will be able to record the slides just fine, but if you want to markers for each slide, you will have to add them manually.
