Wish to avoid having the marker view display the thumbnail view upon adding a marker to the timeline (V8 new marker thumbnail view)

Is there a way to keep the marker view hidden all the time? I use markers as temporary place holders a great deal when editing my projects, so they are short lived on the timeline. Can I keep the marker line hidden and only have the new smaller marker indicator only show when adding new markers? I have no need to name these temporary markers as they are just editing placeholders and not used for a TOC.

Hello Andy,

I noticed this post didn't get tagged with the product category so it probably slipped through a lot of the folks focused on Camtasia Studio 8.

Sorry I missed it too. I don't think there is a way to add a marker without having the expanded view take effect. I know you can press Ctrl + M to hide the marker track, but you'd have to do that after every marker you added.

Let me change this into an Idea so the team can better track this as a feature request. I'll also double-check that there's not some hidden way to turn off this behavior.

Thanks for the bump,
Mike Curtis

This would be very useful. I guess the issue is with naming the marker. just make some kind of autonaming.
