Version 14 timing?

I have Snagit version 11 currently...and would like to upgrade...but it appears that if version 14 comes out 17 seconds after my purchase, I'm outta luck.  I'm surprised that a purchase does not come with at least a few months of free upgrade rights...and I'm not willing to pay extra "just in case" a new release comes out.  What is the target for release 14?

Actually, I believe TechSmith has in place a "grace period" that exists for a certain time. For example, if you purchased version 13 today and 14 was released a week later, even without any additionally purchased plan to cover things, you would still be eligible for the upgrade at no charge.

I'm not sure exactly what the period of time is. Perhaps a TechSmith person will pop in to advise on that.

Cheers... Rick :)

If you're on version 11 you might want to give 13 a miss and wait for 14.  There's a significant body of opinion on here that TechSmith screwed up big time with the UI and UX in v13.  I was on 11 and made the regrettable decision to upgrade to 13.  Oh god how I wish I hadn't wasted my money.

We can only hope they do one of two things:

a) Do a major dot release to 13 to fix it (in which case you will hear about it here)
b) Fix it in 14.

My hope is that they will do the decent thing and fix it in the current release, at no cost to their loyal supporters.  We'll see...

For many of us v12/v13 were major disappointments.
I myself still stick to v11 leaving my v13 license unused. In case v14 is more or less the same as v13, most likely, I will stick to v11.
I know my way around in v11, I like the interface and above all, to a great extend, v11 does what I want.
